Platform service provider starts cooperation with La Redoute and internationalizes the business La Redoute is the leading marketplace for home and fashion in France with 99 percent awareness.
Hamburg, 23 October 2019 – heyconnect starts cooperation with “La Redoute” and expands its offering internationally. As an interface between brand and marketplace, heyconnect enables German and international brands to offer their products on the leading French e-commerce platform for home and fashion with immediate effect. heyconnect has already supported the first brands, including Peter Hahn, Anna Aura, Basler and Emilia Lay. With an awareness level of 99 percent*, the marketplace for home products, fashion and accessories has achieved Amazon status in Europe’s third largest e-commerce market.
“Local marketplaces are more important in France than in Germany and many other countries. Thanks to its enormous reach, La Redoute offers brands targeting the French market quick access to a target group with an affinity for trends and purchasing power,” explains Florian Curdt, founder and CEO of heyconnect. “However, with large marketplaces the hurdles for providers are correspondingly higher. This is where we come into play and make possible what many brands cannot achieve on their own”, Curdt continues.
Not every marketplace is quickly and easily accessible for every brand. Added to this are the different requirements of the individual marketplaces. With an increasing number of platforms on which brands have to be present today and increasing internationalisation, the complexity and risk in the marketplace business is thus increasing. “Many manufacturers can no longer map this in-house. We manage the complexity, minimize the risk and act as a partner of the brands and central interface to the online platform”, says Curdt. heyconnect knows the individual marketplaces, offers access and has the know-how and the necessary resources in all areas: From the technical connection, product presentation with content and image creation to logistics and platform marketing. Thus, brands have a central contact person at heyconnect for their entire platform business.
“With La Redoute we want to consistently internationalise our marketplace business. We are already in final talks with further relevant platforms abroad”, says Curdt about the outlook.
La Redoute generated revenues of € 750 million in 2016 and has 10 million active customers and 24 million page views per month. The platform stands for the values freedom and authenticity. The target group are women of strong character and trend-conscious (90 percent share) between 26 and 45 years of age, predominantly from the urban environment. The range for women, men and children is available in France, Germany, the Netherlands, England and 26 other countries**.
