How Dutch brands can master the German e-commerce business

In 2021, the Dutch e-commerce market was estimated to be worth around 30.6 billion euros, with bol.com having the largest market share at 2.8 billion euros. In comparison, the German e-commerce market is worth over 99.1 billion euros, with Amazon Germany, the country’s largest e-commerce brand, taking in 31 billion euros. This amount is almost equal to the total turnover of Dutch e-commerce in 2021.

 

This highlights the huge potential for retailers to expand internationally and, in this case, the opportunity for Dutch brands to realise even more sales by integrating into an industry as fast-growing as Germany.
